December, 2010 Green Drinks Havertown to Host Greg Vitale
Green Drinks Havertown is a local chapter of the worldwide organization of people who gather monthly to chat about local green initiatives, jobs, projects and services. Green Drinks Havertown is hosting a Holiday Party on December 8th at Tip O'Leary's Restaurant on West Chester Pike, from 6:30-8:30pm. Greg Vitali will be present to speak on the township's green initiatives and progress.

On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Bryn Mawr students Katie Link and Yufang Wang, along with Professor of Mathematics Victor Donnay were officially recognized by the Haverford Township board of commissioners for their work in helping the municipality successfully apply for a $300,000 grant from the state of Pennsylvania to help finance the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system in the township's new community recreation and environmental education center.

June 22, 2010 Haverford Commissioners OK Geothermal for Rec Center
Calling it "the right thing to do in 2010," Haverford Township Commissioners voted unanimously Monday in favor of incorporating a geothermal energy system into plans for a community recreation/environmental center at Haverford Reserve.
